Coming to work for Broader Approach, and in particular for the IFERC project, was not a straight path for me.
The 20th International Fusion Energy Research Centre (IFERC) Project Committee (IFERC PC-20) meeting was held at Rokkasho on 22nd – 23rd March, in conjunction with the 5th CSC Review Meeting and CSC closing ceremony.
The Computational Simulation Centre (CSC) was established in the IFERC Centre in Rokkasho, and has provided to the EU and Japan fusion communities a state-of the art supercomputer and free operation and support for five years, between 2012 and 2016.
The 2nd Intermediate report (2nd-IR) of BA DDA was published in Feb. 2017, and summarized the progress of common research topics in DDA after the 1st Intermediate report. The 2nd-IR emphasizes the design integration and impact on DEMO system design, as well as progress in subjects and component design.
To establish the ITER Remote Experimentation Centre (REC), a demonstration was organized on April 26, 2017
The 8th Technical Coordination Meeting (TCM-8) of DEMO Design Activity (DDA) was held at Kyoto University Uji Campus (hosted by Prof. S. Konishi) on 7th – 8th February 2017
The Final Report of DEMO R&D activity composed of the comprehensive activities based on the original PAs (Procurement Arrangements) up to May 2017 is an important deliverable from the IFERC Project.
The day was clear on Saturday, 17 June 2017 in Mutsu, when celebrated the 10th BBQ Party of the Rokkasho Fusion Instutute.
