In BA Phase II, F4E and QST as the Implementing Agencies for BA have signed a Cooperation Arrangement with ITER Organisation. For the IFERC Project, this collaboration will support ITER in developing and testing remote participation techniques (REC activities) and also provide support for modelling activities important for ITER (CSC activities). In addition, discussions between ITER experts and DEMO designers will take place to explore how to ensure the retention and transmission of the experience gained in the ITER construction.
IFERC REC is also actively collaborating with IFMIF/EVEDA on remote participation to the accelerator LIPAc commissioning and operation activities. Due to the Covid pandemic, travel has been restricted so remote access for European engineers and physicists is very important to maintain the scheduled activities.
